MUSCAT: India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, arrived in Oman on Thursday for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and advancing cooperation across key sectors.
Confirming his arrival, Jaishankar wrote on X: “Glad to arrive in Oman today. Appreciate the warm reception by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maskari, Director General.”
During the visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi. The discussions are expected to cover the full spectrum of India-Oman relations, including trade, investment, energy cooperation and people-to-people ties.

The two sides will also review the implementation of decisions taken during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Oman in December 2025 and discuss the roadmap for the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which entered into force on June 1, 2026.
