MUSCAT : The operation was carried out by the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah, represented by the Consumer Protection Office in Al Suwaiq, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

Officials confiscated approximately 3,000 kilograms of damaged wood and used sponge, along with 50 pieces of ready-made and semi-finished furniture that were reportedly intended for sale to consumers.
According to the CPA, the seized furniture was manufactured from used and substandard materials but was being marketed and sold as new, posing potential health and safety risks to consumers.

Authorities completed the confiscation of the materials and products and initiated legal proceedings against those responsible for the violations.
