PARIS – The agreements span key sectors including healthcare, transport, logistics, investment, civil aviation, renewable energy, water management, space, education, culture and entrepreneurship, reflecting the growing depth of bilateral ties.

Among the government-to-government agreements, the two countries signed an agreement to train Omani specialist doctors between Oman’s Ministry of Health and France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The two sides also signed memoranda of understanding covering logistics, ports and the proposed Muscat Metro project, investment promotion, and air transport cooperation. In addition, declarations of intent were signed on cooperation in the space sector, the establishment of the “House of France”, and the promotion of French language education in Oman.

The visit also resulted in several commercial agreements between Omani and French entities. These included an agreement on managing water networks in the Greater Muscat area involving Nama Water Services, the National Energy Centre, and France’s SUEZ Group.

In the transport and logistics sector, Asyad Group and France’s CMA CGM Group signed the principal terms agreement for a joint project to develop and operate a multi-purpose terminal.

In renewable energy, Nama Power and Water Procurement Company signed the first-phase contract for the 500-megawatt Al Kamil and Al Wafi solar power project with EDF Energy Solutions. Another agreement was signed between the Oman Investment Authority, the Public Services Regulatory Authority, and EDF Group for the Wadi Dayqah Dam pumped-storage hydropower project.

The signing ceremony concluded with a strategic partnership agreement between the Oman Investment Authority, Station 11 and France’s Station F to launch a programme supporting Omani startups seeking to expand into French and European markets.

The agreements were signed as part of His Majesty Sultan Haitham’s official visit to France and are expected to strengthen economic cooperation, attract investment and deepen strategic partnerships between the two countries across a broad range of sectors.
