GENEVA – The statement, released by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said technical-level negotiations would continue throughout the week at the Swiss mountain resort of Bürgenstock as both sides work to advance the discussions.
According to the mediators, the parties also agreed on a mechanism to end the fighting in Lebanon and established a communication channel to help ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through key maritime routes in the region.
In a post on social media, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said the talks had secured exemptions for Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports, the release of certain frozen assets and the launch of a reconstruction and development programme for the country.
