Beijing: Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing will soon provide a new batch of humanitarian aid to Iran and Lebanon to support rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in both nations. While the value of the assistance was not disclosed, Lin said the aid is intended to help affected communities recover from the impact of recent conflicts.
China has been actively extending humanitarian support to countries in the region. In March this year, Beijing provided emergency humanitarian assistance to Iran and other affected nations. During the same month, China also announced emergency aid worth USD 200,000 for victims of a bomb attack on an Iranian elementary school during the US-Israel-Iran conflict.
Lin noted that China will continue to offer assistance within its capabilities and will intensify efforts to promote peace and dialogue in the region. He added that Beijing remains committed to playing a constructive role in achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

The announcement comes amid growing diplomatic momentum following US President Donald Trump’s declaration on Monday that the United States and Iran had finalised an agreement to end their 107-day war, a conflict that triggered significant disruptions in global energy markets and heightened regional tensions.
According to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the peace agreement is scheduled to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19.
