MUSCAT – According to CAA, the highest temperatures recorded on June 2 were 49°C in Barka, Al Suwaiq, Al Khabourah and Qurayyat. Authorities said temperatures are likely to remain in the mid-to-high 40s Celsius across parts of the Sultanate.
The Authority stated that the prolonged heat will affect coastal areas overlooking the Sea of Oman as well as desert regions and parts of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.
Meteorologists attributed the soaring temperatures primarily to an upper-level high-pressure system, combined with dry northwesterly winds and other atmospheric factors.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, particularly during midday hours, drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration and follow the latest weather updates issued by Oman Meteorology.
