MUSCAT — The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen market oversight and ensure the preparedness of facilities directly linked to consumer needs during the festive season, when demand for slaughtering services and essential commodities typically rises.
During the visit, inspection teams evaluated the readiness of slaughterhouses to receive consumers before Eid, reviewed health and regulatory procedures, and monitored price stability to ensure smooth operations during the expected surge in demand throughout the holiday period.
The campaign also included visits to ‘Silal’ markets, where officials reviewed the availability and pricing of vegetables and fruits, while monitoring supply movement and market stability as part of broader efforts to ensure the availability of essential goods and protect consumers from practices that could disrupt the market.
The Consumer Protection Authority said it will continue field inspections of markets and seasonal service facilities in coordination with relevant authorities to strengthen market stability, safeguard consumer rights, and enhance institutional coordination during high-demand seasons such as Eid Al Adha.
