MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. 44/2026 on amending some provisions of Royal Decree No. 6/2006 on establishing Oman Botanic Garden.
Article (1) states that the texts of Article One and Article Three of Royal Decree No. 6/2006 shall be replaced with the following texts:
Article One:The area whose boundaries are defined in the map attached to this decree shall be designated as a natural reserve under the name “Oman Botanic Garden,” falling under the jurisdiction of Muscat Governorate (Muscat Municipality).

Article Three:The Chairman of Muscat Municipality shall exercise all powers stipulated in the Law on Nature Reserves and Wildlife Conservationpromulgated by Royal Decree No. 6/2003 with respect to Oman Botanic Garden Reserve. The Chairman shall also issue the implementing regulations and decisions of this decree in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
