Over 1,400 reports logged by Muscat Municipality amid adverse weather

Muscat Municipality received more than 1,400 service reports through the Tajawob platform during recent weather conditions, with the majority related to rainwater accumulation and infrastructure damage.

MUSCAT – As per the statistics, the general hygiene sector recorded the highest number of reports, totalling 921. Of these, 692 were linked to rainwater accumulations, followed by 101 reports on cleaning areas and neighbourhoods, 44 involving the removal of fallen tree debris, 17 related to clearing rainwater drainage openings, and 14 concerning road litter and waste.

In the roads sector, a total of 301 reports were logged, including 103 cases of damage to asphalt roads and 86 reports of damage to unpaved roads. Additional reports included 49 related to drainage openings and 37 concerning wadis and valley culverts or channels.

The lighting sector recorded 231 reports, the majority of which (198 cases) were linked to lighting outages. Other issues included 15 reports of fallen light poles and 10 cases involving exposed wires and lighting cables.
