MUSCAT : The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has urged farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, and fishermen in governorates likely to be affected by the upcoming weather depression to take precautions to protect themselves and their property. Officials warned against approaching dams and drainage channels and advised avoiding the sea during thunderstorm activity.

The alert follows Report No. 1 issued by Oman Meteorology, which forecasts rain, thunderstorms, and potential flash floods from Tuesday, March 31, to Thursday, April 2, 2026, across several governorates.

The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center, under the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said a trough of low pressure will affect the Sultanate starting Tuesday evening and continue until Thursday morning. The system is expected to bring scattered rainfall of varying intensity, sometimes thundery, accompanied by active winds. Authorities warned that flash flooding in wadis and valleys and reduced horizontal visibility during rainfall are likely.
