MUSCAT : According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the weather system will begin affecting parts of the Sultanate after midnight on Friday March 27 and continue until 10:00 PM the same day.
The alert, issued at 2:00 PM on Thursday (March 26, 2026), highlights moderate to high impact across several regions.
The initial impact is expected in the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, Ad Dhahirah, and Ad Dakhiliyah, before gradually extending to Muscat, South Al Batinah, North and South Ash Sharqiyah, and Al Wusta.
Authorities have warned of rainfall ranging from moderate to very heavy at times, accompanied by hailstorms.

These conditions could trigger flash floods in wadis and valleys, some potentially torrential in nature.
Strong downdrafts with wind speeds between 20 to 50 knots (37 to 93 km/h) are also expected, along with significantly reduced horizontal visibility that may drop to near zero during intense rainfall.
Meanwhile, parts of Dhofar Governorate are expected to experience scattered rainfall, occasionally thundery, with a lower impact intensity ranging from low to moderate.
