MUSCAT – The ROP has reminded the public that any person who fires live ammunition for purposes other than a distress call, or ignites fireworks, launches rockets, or causes flames or explosions in populated areas, adjacent places, or on public roads without a police permit, is in violation of Article 25 of the Arms and Ammunition Law.
Violations carry a fine of up to RO 200. If such acts occur during gatherings or public events, offenders may face imprisonment for up to three months, or a fine not exceeding RO 300.
