Muscat: The Maritime Security Center reported that the commercial vessel MAYUREE NAREE, registered under the flag of the Kingdom of Thailand, was targeted approximately 13 nautical miles off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman.
According to the report, the incident caused a fire to break out in the ship’s main engine room, leading to an emergency situation on board.
In response, a vessel from the Royal Navy of Oman was immediately dispatched to the scene. The naval team successfully evacuated 20 Thai nationals from the ship, ensuring their safety.

Authorities confirmed that several crew members sustained varying injuries during the incident. The rescued individuals were transported for further medical attention and safety procedures.
