MUSCAT : The Public Prosecution stated that violators may face imprisonment for up to three months, a fine of up to RO 300 Omani rials, or one of these two penalties.
The authority clarified that the provision falls under Article (294/a) of the Penal Code, which criminalises behaviour that violates public decency or disregards the cultural values and traditions of society when in public spaces.
