MUSCAT : Her Highness the Honourable Lady Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah Al Busaidi, the spouse of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, paid a visit to Oman’s Musandam Governorate, spotlighting tourism, heritage and small-enterprise initiatives that underpin the governorate’s development drive.
During the visit, Her Highness toured a beachfront resort in Khasab, described as one of the governorate’s key tourism and development projects. The destination serves residents and visitors alike and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen Musandam’s tourism offering.
She also visited the Zeri Handicrafts Initiative and a handicrafts outlet affiliated with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. The tour included an overview of handmade crafts and unique local products created by Omani artisans, highlighting traditional designs rooted in Musandam’s heritage and the diversity of its local environment.

In addition, the Honourable Lady toured the Musandam Heritage Market, operated by the Omani Women’s Association in Khasab. The market showcases traditional crafts, social customs and aspects of everyday life, reflecting the governorate’s cultural identity and the richness of its intangible heritage.
The visit underscored continued efforts to support tourism, empower artisans and small businesses, and preserve cultural heritage as part of broader, sustainable development initiatives in Musandam.
