MUSCAT : Oman’s Council of Ministers has underscored the need to accelerate the Government Digital Transformation Programme, calling for sustained collaboration and closer integration of roles across government entities to improve the delivery of public services, state media reported.

The emphasis came during a cabinet meeting chaired by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, reflecting what officials described as royal interest in advancing digital government initiatives and enhancing service efficiency.

The council stressed the importance of establishing the Unified Portal as the single, central gateway for delivering government services to beneficiaries, aiming to simplify access, improve user experience and strengthen coordination among government units.

Ministers also highlighted the need to advance the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the development of the portal, saying AI applications would support smarter service delivery, improve operational efficiency and help modernise public administration.
