MUSCAT : Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is heading to Oman on Wednesday after concluding his official visit to Ethiopia, as part of a multi-nation diplomatic tour aimed at strengthening India’s political and economic engagement with key partners.

Modi wrapped up high-level meetings in Addis Ababa, where he held talks with Ethiopian leaders on bilateral cooperation, regional developments and global issues of mutual interest.

The prime minister’s Oman visit is expected to focus on deepening economic and strategic ties, with discussions likely to cover trade, investment, energy cooperation and regional stability. Business leaders from both countries are also set to engage on the sidelines of the India–Oman Business Dialogue.

India and Oman share longstanding political, economic and people-to-people ties, with a large Indian community residing in the Sultanate. Officials and industry leaders view the visit as an opportunity to advance bilateral initiatives, including negotiations toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Modi’s visit to Oman follows his stops in Jordan and Ethiopia, forming part of India’s broader diplomatic outreach across West Asia and Africa.
