MUSCAT — Dr Aflah Al Hadhrami, Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), reaffirmed his commitment to serving Oman after receiving the Royal Commendation Order, Second Class, from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
“Oman will always remain at the forefront of our priorities, and serving it is an honour we cherish and a responsibility we carry with complete dedication,” he wrote in an Arabic social media post reflecting on the recognition.
Al Hadhrami expressed pride and gratitude for the honour, saying it brought a greater sense of responsibility and renewed motivation to contribute to the country.

“I see this medal not merely as recognition of what has passed, but as a greater responsibility towards what lies ahead,” he wrote.
He credited PDO’s progress to a collective effort, thanking colleagues, government institutions and partners for their trust, cooperation and support.
Reflecting on the company’s “For Oman” transformation programme, Al Hadhrami said the journey had brought together a team united by a common purpose and love for the country. Its ambitions, he said, extended beyond the company’s success to delivering benefits for Oman and its people.
Among his happiest moments had been seeing young Omanis advance, take on greater responsibilities and demonstrate that the country’s future was in safe hands.
He said one of the most meaningful achievements of leadership was watching others grow and helping prepare young people to carry responsibility forward.
In a separate congratulatory post, PDO said the Royal honour recognised Al Hadhrami’s outstanding leadership and contributions to Oman’s oil and gas sector.
Al Hadhrami pledged to continue working with his colleagues to build a stronger company, develop national talent and create a better future for the next generation.
“What we have achieved so far is not the end of the road, but a step in a longer journey,” he wrote.
