MUSCAT : Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), in partnership with Jefferies Financial Group, has hosted its “Corporate Day” for listed companies in Dubai. The event marks a strategic milestone in broadening the regional and international visibility of Omani companies, expanding access to global capital and attracting high-quality investment into Oman’s capital market.
The initiative forms part of MSX’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Omani capital market and leading global financial hubs. By offering a structured platform that connects participated companies with top asset managers and international investment funds, the MSX Corporate Day provided direct access to insights on corporate performance, sector fundamentals and strategic growth plans. This supported a clearer understanding of investment prospects in Oman’s evolving economy.
The event featured eight listed companies: OQ Exploration & Production, OQGN, OQBI, Sohar International Bank, Bank Muscat, Abraj Energy Services, Asyad Shipping and Omantel. Each delivered detailed presentations outlining their financial and operational performance, competitive advantages and key strategic projects. These highlighted the strength of Oman’s investment proposition amid continued regulatory and economic reform. Commenting on the event, Haitham bin Salem Al Salmi, Chief Executive Officer of MSX, described the Corporate Day as a strategic milestone in advancing engagement between MSX listed companies and international investors. Drawing on prior experience, he noted that direct interaction is key to building investor confidence and raising the global profile of Omani firms. Al Salmi highlighted that the growing interest in Oman stems from the strength of its listed sectors and the clarity of their strategic direction. He added that Corporate Days and global roadshows, held in collaboration with leading financial institutions, are central to MSX’s strategy to attract institutional capital, boost market efficiency and contribute to Oman Vision 2040’s goal of a diversified, knowledge-driven economy.
The Corporate Day included 41 one-on-one meetings , focused on long-term expansion strategies, global capital market trends and opportunities for Omani companies to tap into these developments. Participating investors — representing over 12 institutional investors and 21 individual investors — highlighted the strong transparency demonstrated throughout the event, affirming that Oman provides a resilient, well-regulated investment environment supported by ongoing structural reforms and steady economic growth.
In addition, the event featured a panel discussion titled “Oman on the Rise: Charting a New Investment Landscape,” which brought together H.E. Sayyid Dr. Mundher Al Busaidi, Vice Chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit, and Haitham Al Salmi, CEO of the Muscat Stock Exchange. The session explored the strategic pillars of Oman Vision 2040, mechanisms for tracking national progress, and the role of economic diversification in strengthening Oman’s ability to navigate regional and global developments. It also highlighted the evolving landscape for foreign investment, the critical contribution of capital markets to economic transformation, and key opportunities emerging from privatization and public private partnership (PPP) initiatives. The discussion concluded with a shared emphasis on the importance of expanding the regional and global presence of Omani listed companies, and the need to continue developing a competitive, investor-friendly market environment that enhances Oman’s position within international financial hubs.
