MUSCAT – According to a statement from the CPA, the banned goods were seized during a field inspection campaign targeting local markets and commercial establishments. The operation comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to safeguard consumers and ensure the safety and quality of products offered in the market.
The Authority’s judicial officers carried out inspection visits to shops and commercial centres to verify suppliers’ adherence to the Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, and relevant decisions. During the inspections, officers confiscated 107 containers of Faiza cream found to be in violation of the Law, as the product does not meet approved specifications and standards.
The department has taken all necessary legal measures against the violators, and the seized items have been impounded pending destruction.
Officials stated that this operation is part of a series of intensified monitoring campaigns aimed at ensuring supplier compliance with market regulations. The Authority also urged traders and suppliers to remain fully aware of legal and regulatory requirements, maintain ongoing communication with the Authority regarding new regulatory updates, and ensure that all products meet approved standards before being made available to consumers. This, it stressed, aligns with national efforts to enhance quality of life and promote a sustainable, healthy environment.
