MUSCAT : Oman experienced a notable contrast in temperatures over the past 24 hours, with high-altitude regions turning significantly colder as winter conditions deepen, according to new data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Saiq registered the lowest temperature at 7.5°C, marking one of the season’s chilliest mornings so far. Several other locations also reported mild-to-cold conditions, including Bidiyah (13.7°C), Thumrait (14.0°C), Al Mazyunah (14.0°C), Yanqul (14.1°C), and Haima (14.4°C). In the north, Al Qabil recorded 14.5°C, while Muqshin reported 15°C.

In contrast, daytime heat persisted in parts of the country. Hamra Al Durooa recorded the highest temperature at 32.9°C, followed closely by Fahud (32.7°C), Al Amerat (32.6°C), Al Qabil (32.4°C), Saham (32.3°C), Mahout (32.3°C), Sohar (32.3°C), and Al Kamil wal Wafi (32.3°C).

Meteorologists expect cooler nights to continue in the coming weeks, with temperatures in mountain regions likely to fall further as seasonal patterns advance.
