MUSCAT- The project included the installation of more than 40 kilometres of pipelines with diameters ranging between 63 and 500 millimetres, providing recycled water to 40 farms in its first phase.
The opening ceremony was held in the Wilayat of Seeb under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources.

Even before its launch, the project had received over 100 water delivery requests. It offers sustainable solutions to challenges faced by agricultural landowners, including water scarcity and salinity, and serves as the foundation for future expansions aimed at supplying the area between Sultan Qaboos Street and the Al Batinah Expressway toward North Al Batinah Governorate.

The initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040 objectives, supporting environmental sustainability, water and food security, and agricultural productivity. It also contributes to revitalizing the agricultural economy, creating job opportunities, and strengthening public-private partnerships in natural resource management.

Qais bin Saud Al Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, stated that the company is currently studying the establishment of strategic reservoirs for recycled water, alongside interconnection projects between wastewater treatment plants to allow mutual water supply between facilities in Barka, Seeb, and Sohar.
He added that Nama Water Services plans to operate a new recycled water pipeline between Nizwa and Manah in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate during the first half of 2026, extending over 12 kilometres, as part of efforts to promote the culture of recycled water use across Oman.

Al Zakwani further highlighted that the project represents a qualitative leap in the company’s digital transformation, as the recycled water network is now connected to the central monitoring and control system (SCADA), enabling real-time performance monitoring, higher operational efficiency, and enhanced service reliability. The system includes smart digital meters, which will soon allow customers to manage their accounts digitally through the “Nama Water” application, marking the first integration of recycled water services with a smart meter control centre in Oman.

As part of the inauguration, Nama Water Services also launched the new identity for recycled water, Nama’s Wellspring (Manhal Nama), reflecting its vision for sustainable water development and environmental preservation.

The new ‘Manhal Nama’ logo, inspired by two interlinked leaves, symbolises growth and innovation — the green leaf representing nature and vitality, and the purple leaf reflecting renewal and technological advancement — embodying the company’s commitment to a sustainable and prosperous future.
