MUSCAT – The company is currently implementing several key projects including wastewater networks, treatment plants, pumping stations, and treated water networks.

Among the most prominent projects currently being implemented in Muscat Governorate is a package of seven sewage network projects in the Wilayat of Bausher, with a total investment of RO 123 million.
Engineer Jafar bin Mahna Al Hadhrami, Project Manager of Unit 2 in Muscat Governorate, explained that these projects involve the installation of main and secondary sewage lines spanning 311 kilometres, including 34 kilometres of potable water networks and additional related infrastructure.

He highlighted the ongoing sewage network project in Bausher Heights, valued at RO 17.5 million. This project, expected to be completed by 2028, will serve approximately 60,000 residents and includes 68 kilometres of sewage pipelines, 1,100 inspection chambers, and 6,850 house connections. Currently, the project is 10 percent complete.

Another project underway in southern Al Athaiba, costing RO 5.6 million, is set to benefit 13,000 people. It features 49 kilometres of sewage networks, 1,714 inspection chambers, and 722 house connections, with an expected completion date in 2027. The project’s progress is currently at 12 percent.

Engineer Al Hadhrami also confirmed the commencement of the first phase of sewage network rehabilitation in north Gubrah and north Athaiba, with a budget of RO 24 million. Awarded in late June, the project will start after mid-September 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2028. It includes a 4-kilometer main sewage line, replacement of 812 inspection chambers, rehabilitation of existing pipelines, connection to pumping stations, and replacement of 80 deep inspection chambers.

To support these efforts, Nama Water Services is constructing a pumping station in Bausher and Al Ansab, costing RO 21 million. The station will feature two discharge lines extending 17 kilometres each and a 3.5-kilometer gravity sewer line, with completion expected in 2028.

Additionally, the company is advancing the sewage network project in Al Ansab, which is 8 percent complete. The project covers 75.5 kilometres of sewage lines, 1,160 inspection chambers, and 4,180 household connections. The total cost is RO 25.7 million, with completion anticipated by 2028.
