Rains trigger valley flooding in North Al Sharqiyah and Al Dhahirah Wilayats of Oman

Scattered rainfall across several wilayats in North Al Sharqiyah and Al Dhahirah governorates led to valley overflows and ravine flooding, as residents experienced varying intensities of rain accompanied by hail and strong winds.

MUSCAT : The Wilayats of Al Mudhaibi and Dima and At Taiyyin in North Al Sharqiyah witnessed heavy to light rainfall across multiple villages. In Al Mudhaibi, intense rain hit the areas of Al Jarda, Al Wariyah, and Baad, resulting in the overflow of Al Rak and Ain valleys and the activation of several nearby ravines.

Dima and At Taiyyin also recorded moderate to light rainfall in villages including Mas, Al-Subil, and Badia Al-Rahbiyyin, particularly near the mountainous areas of Jabal Al Hajar, causing local valleys to flow.

Further west, in Al Dhahirah Governorate, the Wilayat of Yanqul experienced heavy to moderate showers. The rain was concentrated in the villages of Tawi Al-Nawamiyah, Jabbah Bin Ghanoum, and Wadi Al-Khabib, where several valleys and ravines flooded.
