MUSCAT – The satisfaction rate is derived from a public opinion poll conducted by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, between May 18 and June 18, 2025.

The results show 88 percent satisfaction with television content related to national occasions, religious holidays, and tropical weather events. However, satisfaction with programming focused on awareness campaigns, government and tourism projects, community issues, and children’s segments was lower, at 69 percent.

Omani viewers reported strong engagement with religious and cultural programmes on Oman TV, with Ramadan television dramas garnering significant attention.

Radio content received similarly high approval, with 88 percent satisfaction for programming that covered national events, holidays, and tropical conditions. Content related to government projects, community topics, and children’s programming received 74 percent satisfaction. Listeners showed particular interest in religious shows and Ramadan talk programmes.

At the governorate level, South Al Sharqiyah recorded the highest satisfaction with radio content at 84 percent. Satisfaction with radio programmes was equal between men and women at 74 percent and reached 78 percent among those aged 30 – 49.

For television content, the South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates reported the highest satisfaction rates at 76 percent. Satisfaction levels for men and women were equal at 74 percent.

The survey aimed to strengthen engagement between the Ministry of Information and the public, enhance the development of media content, and assess satisfaction with the quality and variety of programming offered by Oman Radio and Television. It also sought to better understand audience preferences and ensure media output aligns with the needs and aspirations of all demographic groups.
