Muscat: Oman Airports announced a new lease agreement with United Summit Business LLC to develop a workshop project dedicated to repairing aircraft wheels and brakes. The facility, which will be operated by Mach Aerospace International, is set to rise within the Air Cargo Gateway – Logistics Area at Muscat International Airport.

Spanning approximately 7,274 square meters and with an estimated investment of RO 5 million, the workshop will provide high-standard inspection and repair services for Airbus A320, A330, and Boeing 787 aircraft. The agreement was signed by Oman Airports CEO Ahmed Al Amri and United Summit Chairman Sheikh Hussein Abdullah Al Haddad.

“We are pleased to begin investing in the lands surrounding the Muscat International Airport area, following the recent announcement that Oman Airports is exploring development and investment opportunities within the scope of Muscat International Airport,” said Al Amri.

This latest agreement is part of a broader wave of investments led by Oman Airports. Recent deals include a $30 million gold refinery by Rakesh Pandy Gold, a drone R&D academy by Gulf Wealth International (RO 11 million), a 40,000 sq.m customs warehouse by One World Properties (RO 7 million), and a technology center by Sinan Advanced Industries (RO 2 million). In hospitality, a concession agreement was also signed with Zahara Airport Services to operate the airport hotel with a total investment of RO 1.6 million.

Sheikh Hussein Al Haddad highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility, noting its potential to reduce downtime for airlines and improve operational efficiency.
