MUSCAT – The case involved a complaint filed by a consumer who had entered into an agreement with a company specializing in carpentry, blacksmithing, and aluminium works. The contract involved constructing a custom cabin with accessories for a total of RO 5,200, to be completed within a specified timeframe.
However, the company failed to deliver the agreed-upon work within the contracted period, prompting the consumer to seek assistance from the CPA. After reviewing the complaint, the Authority initiated the necessary procedures and facilitated a settlement between the two parties.
As a result of the intervention, both parties agreed to terminate the contract. The commercial establishment committed to refunding the RO 1,200 advance payment initially paid by the consumer, in lieu of completing the project.
