MUSCAT : Speculation over a possible TikTok ban in Oman has intensified after users reported being unable to access the popular short-form video platform.
Omani technology specialist Mohammed Al-Rabiei said on social media that TikTok had been “technically blocked” across all telecommunications operators in Oman.
His comments followed widespread reports from users that the application had stopped working, fuelling speculation that access to the platform had been restricted nationwide.

However, no official statement from the relevant authorities confirming a formal or permanent ban has been issued at the time of publication.
It also remains unclear whether the reported blocking is temporary, what prompted the measure, or how long the disruption could remain in place.
TikTok is among the world’s most widely used social media platforms and has a significant user base in Oman and across the Gulf.
Users are awaiting official clarification over the status of the platform and whether access will be restored.
