Muscat: The growth was driven by strong performances in key sectors, according to Credit Oman CEO Khalil bin Ahmed Al Harthy. The building and construction materials sector led the surge with a 24% increase, amounting to RO 27.16 million in insured exports. The petrochemical and plastics sector followed with a robust 45% rise, totaling RO 9.18 million, while the mining sector saw a remarkable 150% jump, albeit from a lower base, reaching RO 570,000.
Agricultural exports also recorded a standout performance, growing 96% to reach nearly RO 5 million in insured sales.
Despite notable gains, some sectors experienced declines, including packaging, fisheries, and garments. However, Al Harthy emphasized that the overall trend signals steady progress in Oman’s non-oil economy and underscores the effectiveness of government initiatives to accelerate economic diversification.
