Muscat – The Tax Authority reminds all taxpayers who are subject to income tax, and obliged to submit accounts within the income returns, that these accounts shall be approved by an auditor legally licensed by the Financial Services Authority to practice the accounting and auditing profession in Oman.
This requirement is in line with the provisions of Income Tax Law No. (28/2009) and aims to enhance compliance, transparency, and accuracy in financial reporting. The authority stressed that submitting unaudited accounts could result in legal consequences for non-compliance.
For additional details and to verify approved auditors, taxpayers can visit the Financial Services Authority portal at www.fsa.gov.om.
