MUSCAT : The initiative is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs, and providing an incubator environment that supports local industries.
The launch event, held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of OPAZ, witnessed the signing of contracts between several entities and a number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to provide services and products, reinforcing the initiative’s goal of promoting Omani projects and creating sustainable opportunities for local businesses.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ayman bin Abdullah Al Fudhaili, CEO of the Industrial Innovation Academy, explained that Madayn – through the Academy and other enabling arms – has been instrumental in supporting SMEs by offering technical support, capacity-building programs, and strategic industrial partnerships.
He added that the Academy has also been implementing various training programs to empower national cadres with technical and technological skills in areas including plastic machine operation, AI applications, legal specialties, and traditional ship manufacturing. He noted that these programmes align with Oman’s long-term vision for industrial innovation and sustainable development.
Dr Fudhaili stated that the Academy continues to monitor investment opportunities available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Madayn, such as maintenance, legal consultancy, insurance, PR, packaging, and marketing. The total cost of services in these factories has been monitored and estimated at more than RO 6.7 million.
