MUSCAT: His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidy, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Committee thanked His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his care and appreciated all the members of the society for the high level of commitment during the nationwide lockdown and night movement ban.

“The ultimate goal of the decisions taken by the Supreme Committee is to protect everyone in the society from Covid-19. The decision to lockdown the governorates and introduce night movement ban was to reduce the movement of individuals so that the cases can be reduced,” Al Busaidy explained.

According to the Minister, the Omani community have become more aware about the virus and has become more keen to adhere to the preventive measures. Al Busaidy also thanked the Royal Oman Police, Sultan’s Armed Forces for the outstanding efforts taken in implementing the decisions. “We would also like to thank the frontline healthcare workers for their efforts in combating the pandemic,” he added.
