Muscat: This growth highlights the nation’s expanding footprint across regional markets, especially Saudi Arabia, which has emerged as a key trade partner.
According to data released by the National Center for Statistics and Information, Omani industrial exports have gained notable traction in the region. Saudi Arabia alone registered a 28.3% rise in its imports of Omani industrial products, reaching RO 259 million, reinforcing the deepening economic ties and growing demand for Omani goods in the kingdom.
This growth comes amid concerted efforts by the Sultanate to enhance regional trade through platforms such as the Economy, Trade and Industry Committee, established under the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council. The committee has actively worked to streamline customs procedures, unify commercial systems, and improve transport links through routes like the Rub’ al-Khali crossing, which now serves as a vital trade artery between the two nations.

Current initiatives between Oman and Saudi Arabia focus on cooperation in intellectual property, e-commerce, and anti-monopoly frameworks, alongside programs supporting export development and joint industrial ventures. Economic forums and regular meetings between private sector stakeholders are also playing a pivotal role in promoting collaboration across manufacturing, renewable energy, food security, and supply chains.
Saudi Arabia has now become Oman’s second-largest trading partner in the Gulf. With both nations aligning their strategic goals under Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030, the path is set for deeper industrial integration. Oman continues to welcome Saudi investment into its special economic and free zones, offering competitive incentives and advanced infrastructure.
Officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion note that the momentum in industrial relations is evident through growing collaboration, sector-specific workshops, and investor dialogues.
