MUSCAT : The meeting, held in the presence of the Social Development Committee, focused on ways to support marriage of young people through the Marriage Fund.

Discussions covered organisational aspects related to the mechanisms for benefiting from the fund and ways to facilitate access to the support provided to young people.

It is pertinent to note that the first governors’ meeting, held earlier this month, had indicated the launch of marriage support fund in all governorates before the end of June. That meeting pointed out that governors would be taking executive steps to activate the work of marriage support funds, in accordance with the standards to be issued by the Ministry of Interior.
