Islamic banking sector assets hit RO 8.9 billion, making up nearly 20% of sector

Islamic banks and windows in Oman have recorded remarkable growth, with total assets climbing to RO 8.9 billion by the end of April 2025, marking a significant 18.1% rise.

Muscat: According to the latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), the Islamic banking sector continues its robust expansion, solidifying its role as a key pillar in the national financial landscape.

The data shows that the total financing provided by Islamic banks and windows surged by 13.5%, reaching approximately RO 7.2 billion. This reflects growing demand for Sharia-compliant financial services across the country.

In parallel, customer deposits in Islamic banks and windows witnessed a sharp increase of 22.6%, climbing to around RO 7.1 billion by the end of April 2025.
