Muscat: The actual public revenues for 2024 reached RO 12.781 billion, surpassing the initially approved budget estimate of RO 11.010 billion—marking a 16% increase. This boost reflects the Sultanate’s ongoing fiscal recovery and improved income from key sectors.
On the expenditure side, actual public spending recorded a 5% increase, reaching RO 12.241 billion compared to the approved estimate of RO 11.650 billion. The higher spending has been attributed to priority development projects and enhanced government services.
Despite the rise in expenditure, Oman’s public debt saw a significant decline, dropping by RO 660 million to stand at RO 14.6 billion by the end of 2024 compared to the previous year. This reduction highlights the government’s commitment to fiscal sustainability and efficient debt management.
