Muscat: In line with Oman Sustainability Week, the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) organized and participated in a series of impactful events to further its commitment to sustainability. The week culminated in MCBS proudly receiving the Bronze Award in the ESG category at the 2025 Oman Sustainability Week Awards, a significant recognition of the college’s leadership in sustainability. This prestigious honor underscores MCBS’s steadfast commitment to sustainability, showcasing the college’s contributions to Oman’s economic growth and social resilience.
As part of its ongoing efforts, MCBS hosted a PRME workshop featuring Prof. Jeremy Williams (Zayed University) and Ms. Rebecca Keogh (University of Birmingham), where the Impactful Five (i5) framework was introduced. This innovative framework equips educators with strategies to align business education with global sustainability goals, empowering faculty to integrate sustainability deeply into the curriculum.
Additionally, the week featured a panel discussion hosted by the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), where Ms. Aleksandra Minic, Sustainability Specialist/Coordinator at MCBS, joined other respected experts to explore how universities can lead the charge in sustainability. The discussion covered critical topics such as embedding sustainability into academic programs, transforming research into real-world solutions, empowering students as change-makers, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Panelists emphasized the role of education in developing ethical business leaders, shaping Oman’s future in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
