Beirut explosion: His Majesty orders dispatching humanitarian aid to Lebanon

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the government, on the orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, has send tonnes of humanitarian aid to help Lebanon in the aftermath of a massive deadly explosion in the capital Beirut that killed at least 135, with more than 5,000 injured.

The flights operated by the Royal Air Force of Oman took-off on Friday morning carrying various medical materials and essential humanitarian needs on board.

More than 300,000 people have been displaced from their homes. Authorities declared Beirut a “disaster city” and imposed a two-week state of emergency.
