Oman and Iraq strengthen ties with new airport partnership

Muscat: The agreement was signed by His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of Oman Airports, and by Hajj Hassan Rashid Jawad Al Abayji, Chairman of the Board at Taiba Karbala Company. The new agreement focuses on the preparation, setup, and initial operation of Karbala International Airport, a key project for Iraq’s aviation sector. This partnership reflects both countries’ commitment to building stronger economic and transport links.

This collaboration is seen as an important development in advancing air travel in Iraq, while also showcasing Oman’s growing role in supporting infrastructure projects in the region.
