BEIJING — The Oman Investment Authority signed 23 agreements, cooperation memoranda and strategic and investment partnerships with Chinese institutions and companies in Beijing on Monday, the Oman News Agency reported.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik attended the signing ceremony, held on the sidelines of the Oman-China Forum during his state visit to China.

The announcement did not disclose the value of the deals or identify the companies involved.

The forum aims to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and expand partnerships among their investment and financial institutions.

It also seeks to identify investment opportunities, support strategic partnerships and increase trade and investment exchanges, according to ONA.

The signing comes as Oman and China pursue broader economic ties. Earlier on Monday, His Majesty and Chinese President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of a currency swap agreement and 14 memoranda of understanding and cooperation protocols covering finance, technology, investment and other sectors.
