Muscat: The initiative aims to equip children and young adults—including orphans—with the skills, mindset, and tools needed to thrive in a fast-evolving, tech-driven world.

The Innovation Club, launched under the Ministry’s Child Care and Youth Hostels Center, is designed to foster creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among its young residents. By shifting from traditional craft methods to the use of cutting-edge devices powered by artificial intelligence, the club hopes to transform youthful curiosity into real-world, income-generating ventures.

Salma bint Ali Al Alawi, Director of the Center, highlighted the club’s transformative role in enhancing creativity and cultivating a culture of innovation. This initiative aims to help develop the potential of youth and orphans, enabling them to translate their ideas into reality and encouraging them to build entrepreneurial projects based on AI and modern technologies.

The club will train and qualify 164 young participants—85 children and young women from the Child Care Center, and 79 young men from youth hostels—in the use of AI-based tools and systems. The program will be implemented in phases, starting with training female employees who will then mentor the youth, followed by direct sessions for the participants themselves.

Al Alawi emphasized that the club aims not just to build technical skills but to enable self-reliance by helping youth launch financially viable projects.

In addition to skill-building, the club plans to engage its members in innovation competitions and secure agreements with specialized academies in programming and AI, ensuring a comprehensive ecosystem for growth, creativity, and opportunity.
