MUSCAT : Spanning a total area of 287,000 square meters with a construction area of 47,357 square meters, the project is being developed at a total cost of RO 75 million.
The state-of-the-art hospital will offer 260 beds and is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services across the governorate upon completion.

Engineer Yousef bin Yaqoub Ambu Ali, Director General of the Directorate General of Projects and Engineering Services at the Ministry of Health, stated that the new hospital is one of the most vital health development initiatives in the region.
He explained that the establishment of an integrated hospital capable of providing both primary and secondary healthcare services is a milestone in the Sultanate’s journey toward achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The hospital will feature a comprehensive range of medical facilities, including an accident and emergency unit, a radiology department, a kidney medicine unit, outpatient clinics, a rehabilitation unit, intensive care units for adults, children, and cardiac patients, a gynaecology and obstetrics department, a neonatal special care unit, a daily operations department, administrative offices, a meeting hall, a central sterilization department, hospitalization wards, and general services.
Eng. Ambu Ali highlighted that the hospital will help ease the pressure on existing healthcare facilities and enable a quicker response to medical emergencies, including accidents and natural disasters. He also noted that the project reflects the government’s commitment to meeting the aspirations and health needs of citizens in line with decentralization policies and regional development plans.
The Suwaiq Hospital will serve as a central hub supporting the Suwaiq Health Complex and surrounding health centres in Al Bidayah, Al Tharmad, and Al Shareesa. Once operational, it is also expected to generate various employment opportunities in the healthcare and administrative sectors.
