MUSCAT: All public places and shops must be closed before 7 pm everyday from July 25 till August 8 ahead of the total lockdown.

Speaking to the media on Thursday Brigadier Said Al Asmi, Director General of Operations at Royal Oman Police (ROP) said everyone must take necessary actions before the closing time. “Everyone shall take necessary actions before the closing time to ensure that all shops are closed and that they are in their residence before 7 PM as the prevention of movement starts at 7 PM,” Al Asmi said.

Total nationwide lockdown begins only at 7 pm until 6 am daily and no movements including walking or by transport will be allowed, a top Royal Oman Police official said on Thursday.

Al Asmi said those violating the lockdown decisions will be fined OMR 100.

Al Asmi said there will be no exemption for movements between governorates for 15 days. “ROP and Sultans Armed Forces will enforce the imposed control and checking points between the Governorates. The complete lockdown means no justifications or exception for movement between Governorates,” Al Asmi said.

“We demand full cooperation of everyone, because the only way to reduce the number of infections is shouldering the personal responsibility,” he added
