OMR 100 fine for violating lockdown including movement ban: Royal Oman Police

MUSCAT: Total nationwide lockdown begins only at 7pm until 6am daily and no movements including walking or by transport will be allowed, a top Royal Oman Police official said on Thursday.

Speaking at the press conference, Brigadier Said Al Asmi, Director General of Operations said complete movements including walking is prohibited during the nationwide lockdown starting from July 25 till August 8.

Al Asmi said those violating the lockdown decisions will be fined OMR 100.

“Prevention of movement means to prevent walking or using any means of transportation during the specified period,” he said.

“ROP and Sultan’a Armed Forces will inforce the imposed control and checking points between the Governorates. The complete lockdown means no justifications or exception for movement between Governorates,” Al Asmi said.

All public places including shops will be completely closed from 7pm till 6am daily till August 8.

“We demand full cooperation of everyone, because the only way to reduce the number of infections is shouldering the personal responsibility,” he added
