MUSCAT : The initiative, running until May 2025, is set to provide critical insights into the role of digital activities in Oman’s economy.
This first-of-its-kind project will assess the added value of the communications and information technology (ICT) sector and digital financial and insurance services to the Sultanate’s GDP. The survey targets approximately 1,300 establishments across Oman, including entities of all sizes—large, medium, small, and micro—operating within the ICT and digitally-driven financial services sectors.
Using data from 2023 as its baseline, the survey aims to produce actionable indicators aligned with the National Digital Economy Program’s goal of achieving a 10% contribution of the digital economy to the GDP by 2040.
