LONDON: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, is on a two-day state visit to the UK.
Sheikh Tamim, has received a ceremonial welcome in central London marking the start of a two-day state visit.
King Charles III met the Emir with a handshake at Horse Guards Parade, where the Qatari national anthem was played and a royal salute took place.

The ceremony was also attended by Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, who escorted the royal Qatari couple in a procession to the ceremonial parade ground near Buckingham Palace.
The visit by the emir and his consort, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad Al Thani, will include talks at Downing Street with the country’s Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
