TURKEY: At least three people have been killed, with 14 others injured, according to initial reports. The assault, which started with an explosion believed to have been carried out by a suicide bomber, quickly escalated with gunfire, creating a chaotic scene at the prominent defense and aviation facility.

Security forces responded swiftly to the situation, bringing it under control after a brief exchange of fire, according to AP News. The attack left employees and authorities in shock as a hostage situation unfolded amidst the violence.

Although no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, authorities are investigating possible links to terrorist organizations, given the coordinated nature of the assault.

TUSAŞ, a key player in Turkey’s defense sector, has suspended its operations and evacuated all personnel.
