Muscat – The NCEM, through the National Emergency Management Centre, will kick off the campaign on Sunday (September 29) and continue it until October 7.
This initiative seeks to enhance community awareness regarding the risks associated with changing weather patterns and tsunami waves, while also introducing residents to the early warning systems for multiple hazards. The campaign will be conducted across all wilayats within the Dhofar Governorate.
Targeting the local community, the campaign focuses on four key areas: education, economy, security, and community engagement. It will feature a variety of activities, including meetings, seminars, practical exercises, and an accompanying exhibition, as well as the distribution of awareness bulletins.
The campaign is a collaborative effort involving several key organizations, including the Ministry of Information, the Civil Aviation Authority (through the National Centre for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards), the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the Directorate General of Education, the Directorate General of Social Development in Dhofar, and the Youth Centre in Salalah.
