MUSCAT : The trifold smartphone promises an advanced experience, featuring a 10.2-inch screen, AI-powered functions like text translation, and compatibility with a foldable keyboard.
The Mate XT, available in red and black, offers storage options ranging from 19,999 yuan ($2,809) to 23,999 yuan ($3,371). As of midday Tuesday, preorders surpassed 4 million, indicating strong consumer interest. Huawei’s Richard Yu emphasized the company’s dedication: “We have spent five years striving for this.”
In contrast, Apple’s iPhone 16 series, starting at $799 for the base model and $1,199 for the Pro Max, will also be available for preorders this Friday, with in-store sales kicking off on the same day as the Mate XT. The iPhone 16 introduces the new A18 chip, promising a significant speed boost over previous models.
