MUSCAT: Financial services such as ATMs and online money transfer are working without any disruptions despite the temporary suspension of online payment gateway ‘OmanNet’, Central Bank of Oman said on Friday.
CBO on Thursday suspended the country’s online payment gateway service after it suffered a security breach that have affected users from making transactions online. However, CBO has clarified that ATMs, online transfer from one account to another account, and point of sale devices (POS) are working smoothly.
OmanNet is a national debit card payment gateway infrastructure for e-commerce transactions. CBO said since the network is suspended, customers who wants to make e-commerce transactions, can use the option to “pay with credit or other cards” to make payments, if the option is available until the service is restored.
